About this hours calculator
Put in when you started and finished each day, take off the break, and it adds up the week. The total comes in hours and minutes and as a decimal, which is what most payroll and invoicing wants.
What it handles
- Shifts that run past midnight — a finish before the start counts as overnight.
- Unpaid breaks, in minutes, taken off each day.
- A rate per hour, giving a total to invoice.
- As many days as you need, saved in this browser.
What is the difference between 7:30 and 7.5?
The same length written two ways. Seven hours thirty minutes is 7.5 in decimal, because thirty minutes is half an hour. Payroll systems almost always want the decimal.
How do I enter a night shift?
Put in the real times — start 22:00, finish 06:00. A finish earlier than the start is read as the next morning.
